Lois James, D.D.S.
Dr. Lois James, DDS, NP, RN, began her career in nursing at Rochester General Hospital before advancing her education at the State University of New York, where she earned her Nurse Practitioner degree. For several years, she collaborated closely with Associate Professors of Medicine at the University of Rochester. Driven by a passion for patient care, she transitioned to dentistry, obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baltimore School of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland, and completing a residency in Advanced General Dentistry. Since establishing her practice in Ocean View, Delaware in 1998, Dr. James has been committed to providing gentle, pain-free dental care aimed at promoting lifelong oral health.
A member of the American Dental Association and the Kent Sussex Dental Association, Dr. James integrates her nursing background into her dental practice, emphasizing compassionate patient care and empowerment. She maintains a commitment to continuing education, attending seminars to remain current with dental advancements. Outside of dentistry, Dr. James enjoys fitness, reading, and gardening. Originally from Upstate NY, she now resides in Ocean View, Delaware. In 2024, Dr. James partnered with Dental Associates of Delaware to broaden her impact and enhance access to quality dental care across southern Delaware, while continuing her advocacy for patient-centered dentistry and community outreach.
George Bennitt, D.D.S.
Dr. Bennitt graduated from Colgate University in 2009 with a degree in Biology, where he distinguished himself as a member of the men’s swimming team. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Following his dental education, he proudly served as an active duty commissioned officer with the United States Navy Dental Corps. During his tenure, he provided dedicated care to Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen at various stations including Virgina, California, and Japan. In his final assignment, he supervised clinical operations at two dental clinics on Naval Base Ventura County in California. Dr. Bennitt maintains memberships in esteemed professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Delaware State Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In the Navy Dental Corps, Dr. Bennitt embraced the motto “Fit to bite, fit to fight,” a principle he continues to uphold in private practice. He is committed to ensuring every patient achieves a pain-free, functional, and healthy mouth capable of meeting life’s challenges. Emphasizing conservative dentistry, he adheres to a minimally invasive approach, treating only what is necessary while integrating cutting-edge technology to deliver same-day dental solutions.
Originally from West Chester, PA, Dr. Bennitt and his family eagerly anticipate their return to the east coast, settling in southern Delaware. They look forward to becoming active members of the community where Dr. Bennitt once spent twelve summers as a lifeguard with the Bethany Beach Patrol. He treasures the opportunity to forge new connections and create lasting memories in the area alongside his wife and sons. Their shared passions include hiking, skiing, and enjoying the beach together.
